KIMS Sikhara Hospitals, Guntur, conducted a large-scale awareness campaign and rally to educate the public about the importance of organ donation. The initiative was organised as part of an organ donation awareness drive to encourage people to understand how a single donor can save multiple lives through timely organ transplantation.
Doctors, healthcare workers, students and hospital staff participated in the event, carrying placards and awareness messages promoting voluntary organ donation. Medical experts explained that organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs and corneas can help critically ill patients receive a second chance at life. They also clarified common misconceptions surrounding organ donation and stressed the importance of family consent and awareness.
Hospital officials stated that Andhra Pradesh continues to play a significant role in organ donation initiatives and public participation is crucial to bridging the gap between organ demand and availability. The campaign aimed to inspire citizens to pledge for organ donation and support life-saving healthcare initiatives.
